Sensor-based supervision
Sensor-based supervision raises alarms in TelluCare from sensors at the user's home. The sensors connect to a Neat Novo safety alarm, which sends the alarms to TelluCare. Your personnel handle the alarms in TelluCare and TelluGo.
For / Required Role: Technician, Responder
Before you start
- The user has a Neat Novo safety alarm, and the sensors are paired with it. See Step by step guide for door sensor.
- Your account is set up to receive alarms from the Novo, and the Novo is registered in your account. If the user's profile has no Sensor based supervision tab, contact Support.
To set it up for a user, see Setting up sensor-based supervision.
How it works
- A sensor triggers, and the Novo sends an alarm code to TelluCare.
- TelluCare checks the user's Sensor-based supervision list:
- The alarm is in the list and inside its time period: an alarm is raised with the display text, icon and priority you set.
- The alarm is in the list but outside its time period: no alarm.
- The alarm isn't in the list: no alarm, unless your account has a default for that code.
- The alarm shows in the Alarm list, like other alarms.

Good to know
- Technicians set up sensor-based supervision. Responders get the alarms, but don't see the Sensor based supervision tab.
- An alarm has one time period. Outside it, the sensor raises no alarm.
- Technical alarms from the Novo and sensors (battery, power, lost contact) show in Technical alerts, not in the user's list.
