Cameras

Cameras lists every camera you have access to. Which cameras you see depends on where their device groups sit in the hierarchy.

For / Required Role: Technician

See Device groups. Cameras appear here as Inventory once Support has set them up and they report to TelluCare. There is nothing to create: the job is to attach them.

Camera statuses

Status What it means
Inventory The camera is not attached to a user.
Active The camera is attached to a user and has no open technical alarm.
Not working The camera is attached to a user and has an open technical alarm.

Under Camera status, filter the list with All, Inventory, Active or Not working. Each option shows how many cameras it holds.

  2. Under From profile, select Change profile.
  3. In Change camera profile, choose the profile. Use Search profiles to find it.
  4. Select Save.

Several cameras

  1. Select the cameras with the checkboxes. Changing a filter or the search clears the selection.
  2. In Apply camera profile to selected, choose the profile under Select a profile.
  3. Select Apply. Clear removes the selection.

If the new profile is less private than a camera's current profile, you are asked Reduce privacy on … cameras? first. Select Apply the change to go ahead.

Camera information

Select a camera to open Camera information. It has three tabs:

Tab What it shows
Camera information Device group, Name, Identifier and Model, and the camera's settings. Select Edit to change the details, then Save.
Technical alerts The camera's open technical alarms and its technical alarm history. See Technical alarms and device health.
Events Events the camera has sent.

The settings on Camera information come in two groups:

Group What it holds
From profile Settings inherited from the camera profile. Changing the profile changes every camera that uses it. Select Open profile to edit it.
Set for this camera Settings that belong to this camera and are never inherited: Video stream availability, when the camera is attached to a user, and Sound threshold, when continuous supervision with sound monitoring is active. Without a threshold of its own, the camera uses the profile default. Each row says where the setting is changed.

Selecting a camera's Technical alarms column opens Camera information on the Technical alerts tab.

Camera administration

If you can edit cameras, Camera information also shows an administration card for the camera. Its header shows whether the camera is online (green or red dot), and the camera's name, serial number and firmware version.

The actions are available after you select Edit:

Action What it does
Reboot (restart icon) Restarts the camera. This takes a few minutes.
Reconfigure events (wifi icon) Sets up the events the camera sends again. Use it if the camera shows a red error. It takes a few seconds. If it doesn't help, contact Support.
Open the configuration page (link icon) Opens the camera's own configuration page in a new window.
App switches Turn each app installed on the camera on or off. The link icon next to an app opens its configuration page. Shown on desktop only.
