Attaching cameras

Attaching a camera connects a camera from inventory to a user and gives it a camera profile. You attach cameras from the user's profile, on the Camera supervision tab. Which events raise alarms is set afterwards on the camera's card.

Attach a camera

  1. Go to Users and open the user.
  2. Go to Camera supervision and select Add camera. The dialog Attach a camera to … opens.
  3. Under Camera, choose a camera from inventory. Use Search to find it by name, model or serial number. Select Next.
  4. Under Camera profile, choose the camera profile. The camera's current profile is selected, or the default profile if it has none. See Camera profiles.
  5. Select Save. The message Camera attached and active confirms it.

The camera keeps the profile's settings: if you edit the profile later, the camera follows.

If the chosen profile is less private than the camera's current profile, you are asked to confirm the change first.

Remove a camera

  1. On the user's Camera supervision tab, find the camera's card.
  2. Select the delete icon (Remove camera from user), then confirm.

Removing a camera deletes its alarm handling settings. If it is the user's last camera, its planned supervision settings are deleted too. The camera goes back to Inventory in Cameras.

Good to know

  • You can't attach a camera from the Cameras list. Start from the user.
  • Alarm handling, zones and forwarding are set per camera on the user's Camera supervision tab, and are never inherited from the profile.
