Anonymization

For / Required Role: Technician

Anonymization is set in the camera profile, with two settings: Policy and Type.

The policy decides how anonymization is used:

Policy	What it means
Off	The video is shown without anonymization.
Always on	The video is always anonymized. Personnel cannot turn it off.
On, can be turned off	The video starts anonymized. Personnel can turn it off.
On, can be turned off with a reason	The video starts anonymized. Personnel can turn it off, but must give a reason. The reason is saved in the audit log.

The type decides how the video is anonymized:

Type	What it means
Sketch with stick figure	The room is shown as a simplified, shaded sketch, and a stick figure shows where people are and how they are positioned.
Outline with stick figure	The room is shown as a line drawing, and a stick figure shows where people are and how they are positioned. Hides more of the room than Sketch with stick figure.
Light blur	The whole image is blurred lightly. No stick figure.
Heavy blur	The whole image is blurred heavily. No stick figure.

The stick figure is AI-based. Sketch with stick figure and Outline with stick figure hide the room even when no person is detected.

When the policy is Off, the type does not apply.

Go to Camera profiles.
Select the pencil on the profile's column.
Choose a Policy and a Type. Each change is saved straight away.
If the change makes the video less private, confirm it. The change is written to the audit log.
Select Done.

The change applies to every camera that uses the profile, straight away.

If the device can't run Sketch with stick figure or Outline with stick figure, the video is shown with heavy blur instead.
Profiles that used Silhouette before keep it. Silhouette can't be chosen again once the profile changes to another type.
Snapshots follow the same anonymization as the video. See Snapshots.
Anonymization can also be set on a profile with continuous supervision. Turning on continuous supervision sets the policy to Off.

Anonymization hides recognisable details in the video. It runs on the device that shows the stream, and the video is sent over an encrypted channel.
