Alarm settings
Alarm settings decide what TelluCare does when a camera event arrives: whether it raises an alarm, how urgent the alarm is, and when it applies. In TelluCare they are called alarm handling. Each event on each camera has its own alarm handling.
Add or change alarm handling
- Go to Users and open the user.
- On the camera's card, select + (add) or the pencil (edit) on the event's row.
- Fill in the fields below.
- Select Save changes.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Event title, Event code (from camera) | Read only. Change them in the application on the camera. See Camera events. |
| Alarm type | The alarm template to use. Decides the icon, and whether the alarm is forwarded. |
| Display text | The text personnel see on the alarm. |
| Generates Alarm | Yes: the event raises an alarm. No: the event is only logged. |
| Priority | Green, Orange or Red. Only when Generates Alarm is Yes. |
| Time period | All the time, or Period: Applies from and Applies until, in 15-minute steps, on the weekdays you select. |
Test an event
- Select Send event on the event's row.
- Select Yes. The camera sends the event, which can raise a real alarm.
- Check that the event arrives in the user's Event log.
Also test in the room, by moving the way the event is meant to detect.
Remove alarm handling
Select the bin on the event's row and confirm. If a conditional event uses it, you are warned first.
Good to know
- For TCAP events, the alarm type is fixed, and the display text and priority are filled in.
- Sound events can't be tested with Send event.
- An event outside its time period, or with Generates Alarm set to No, only shows in the user's Event log.
- Alarm settings are set per camera and are never inherited from the camera profile.
- Whether alarms are forwarded is decided by the user group. See User groups.
